For our newest collection, we invite you along with us on a special journey that spans different dimensions and landscapes, bringing us all back to the concept of change. Though change is constant and inevitable, we grow and adapt with its many forms. As the first campaign to utilize VFX, an exciting combination of creativity and realism, our visuals depict a futuristic world and the beautiful backdrops of nature to offer a sanctuary-like experience.
Hope is always around us and is the one constant thing that won’t change, though everything around us keeps evolving.
We explore different dimensions by following the journey of shikigamis. These small, beautifully crafted paper birds from Onmyodo are derived from 7th century Japanese folklore and are believed to be beings that judges the goods and evils of a society.
The shikigamis take us to a misty backdrop, setting the stage for an industrial lighthouse and a Neo-inspired Tokyo skyline. The TATRAS emblem is boldly displayed on the lighthouse, casting an ethereal and mystical glow.
We travel with the shikigamis through glittering skies and the beautiful coast of Big Sur, where we see models standing by a looming portal. As the shikigamis fly by, the models slowly come to life, and we all enter the portal.
Lush greenery awaits us. Vivid-hued flowers and a hedge in the shape of the TATRAS logo invite us to look deeper, making way for more dystopian elements: various machinery, a dilapidated satellite covered in moss, and a large stone sculpture in the shape of a hand. We look closer at the imposing sculpture rising out of the sand, seeing a colossal flower inside—a symbol of life and the hope of rebirth.
The scene takes us to the bright lights of futuristic Tokyo. A paper city rises from the Earth’s greenery, filling up the sky as shikigamis soar above: artificial world and nature fuse together, as paralleled with SS22’s theme of combination of materials. We’re taken to a miniature landscape of a cabin surrounded by nature. Encaspulated in a circular glass case, our models walk around the cabin clothed in our SS22 collection. Flowers and lush greenery sprout up, ending our journey with the shikigamis.
